Fabkins Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to the Kelisi!

One of my passions is reducing the amount of waste my family and I generate. Another is helping my children understand why reducing the amount of waste we produce is important. So when Fabkins contacted me about reviewing products (cute child size reusable napkins) that encompass both passions how could I resist!

Fabkins kindly sent napkins for my daughter and for my son (just like a mother to know how to keep the peace). Both my kiddos loved them, gave them a thumbs up and asked me to include them in their lunch (which I did, without even washing them, bad mommy).

This is when I discovered a handy feature; a space for my children's names, right on the label (where I usually write it anyway. Over something else on the label.) Very clever! (It really is the little things in life that impress me the most)

Fabkins, everyday cloth napkins for kids come in bright colors and playful designs that reflect kid’s interests.

Both my son and daughter would agree with that statement.

My daughter’s napkin is a soft pink color with a set of ballet slippers on it and my son’s napkin is light blue with a baseball on it. Pretty typical boy/girl interests. With the wide range of designs/colors that Fabkins offers you should easily be able to find just the right fit for the child in your life!

Fabkins make it fun and easy for kids to be part of saving the environment by reducing paper waste at home and at school.
  • Made of 100% cotton (I wish this was a "greener" material such as organic cotton, bamboo, or hemp. Maybe their next generation of napkins will be.)

  • Perfectly sized for kids' laps and lunchboxes: 13" square (A very nice feature for little hands and little mouths to handle. My daughter said it best, "Look Mom. Just my size")

  • Doubles as a placemat

  • Sewn-in label leaves a space to write your child's name (I love this feature!)

  • Care instructions: Machine wash warm with like colors. Tumble dry low. Wash before first use (Unless your children can't wait that long to use them. Like mine).

  • Can be purchased in a set of 4 on-line or in select locations

  • Offer custom logos and fundraising opportunities

The napkins are not as soft or as absorbent as I would like them to be but my kids don't seem to mind and since they are the ones using them I guess I don't mind either. What is important is that they are using the napkins to wipe the peanut butter off their face and not their shirts.

Fabkins was created out of the desire to offer kids a fun and easy way to be a part of saving the environment. Joyce and Paige (friends, moms, and co-founders) were both committed to packing “waste-free” lunches for their school-age children but had trouble finding cute cloth napkins that weren’t too formal or too big. Ultimately, they decided to create their own, and Fabkins was born.

All to soon it is going to be time to start packing those school lunches again and wouldn't a cute, colorful, just-their-size, reusable napkin be the perfect addition to that school lunch?

I think so. Here is your chance to win a set for your child's back-to-school (thanks to the kind women of fabkins).

To Enter: Visit the fabkins website, take a look at their products , come back here and leave me a comment telling me which set of adorable fabrikns you would like to include in a child's lunch box this school year (That will be the set you win).

Don't forget to include your e-mail address (if your profile does not have it listed)

Giveaway Ends: Sunday Aug 9th!

Extra Entry: Blog about this giveaway and post the link here.

Good Luck!

I totally love these and put a photo, plus a link to your fabulous website on my blog, www.robynandteds.blogspot.com.
My kids would love either the sports fan napkins (he plays all sports, age 8) and my daughter would LOVE the flower power ones as she loves the peace sign, flowers and bright colors that are so popular in tween-ware right now. Wishing myself luck!!

African Safari would be so great. We've been using cloth napkins at the dinner table for a while now, but for the kids to have their own and since my daughter LOVES giraffes, this set would be awesome!

Hi! We really like the Flower Power fabkins. My daughter takes cloth napkins daily, but they are mostly orange or green and leftover from the 70's (thank Mom). I'm sure she'd love some new ones to show to her friends!

Hope I got in before the deadline! I personally like the African Safari pattern, but I think my son would prefer the Beach Bound napkins - so I'm going with those!

We have the bug friends set from last year and used them EVERY DAY at school. This year I would like the flower power--a darker color will show fewer stains. Thanks for the contest!
