A new Etsy shop in town!

As you probably know by now, I am far from domestic and not the least bit crafty. These qualities (or should I say lack of qualities) is what first drew me to Sara’s blog. Sara would post beautiful pictures of the most amazing items that she had hand sewn for her family, friends, co-workers, and herself. The quality and uniqueness of the items were (are) awe inspiring.

When Sara opened her own Etsy shop (Red Owl Designs) featuring some of those beautifully hand sewn items I just had to spread the word....

especially when her ‘feature’ item are reusable bags (you know how much I heart reusable bags)

Description of the bag pictured above as described on Red Owl Design's site

Outer : Michael Miller's Disco Dot in Sorbet
Lining : Robert Kaufman's Pink Polka Dot
(This bag is fully reversible, with pearl snaps on the handles so that it can be turned inside out)
** A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this bag will be donated to the Charleston Breast Center, a non-profit, community-based medical center in Charleston, SC, which provides comprehensive breast care for women. **

I have often wondered why all the re-useable shopping bags at the stores are so plain and ugly! Why can't you be stylish while you save the planet?!?

Well, now you can!

My re-useable shopping bags are made out of fun, fresh, quality fabrics. They are made exactly like a plastic shopping bag (literally … I took apart a plastic bag and made a pattern from it!), and so they expand to fit a ton of stuff. They are fully lined and can be thrown in the washing machine / dryer at any time (I advise washing in cold water).

To read some of the stories behind some of Sara's beautifully sewn items visit the Red Owl Design blog.

In honor of her Mother and Grandmother (both of whom died from breast cancer) Sara makes a line of pink items for her shop in which a portion of the proceeds from those items sold are donated to the Charleston Breast Center.

In honor of this new pink line, Sara is doing a giveaway of one of her beautiful hand-sewn reusable bags.

And of course, to purchase some/a couple/a few/many of these adorable reusable bags visit the Etsy shop: red owl designs, llc - the shop
