Eco Friendly Playing Cards

Look at what my sweet husband bought me:
Bicycle Eco Edition
  • Crafted from sustainable forest paper
  • Starch-based laminating glue
  • Vegetable-based printing inks
  • The cards are recyclable
  • The box the cards are packaged in is also recyclable
  • Made in the USA
  • Cards do not come wrapped in plastic/cellophane (like regular Bicycle cards due)
  • Are slightly more expensive than the regular cards
  • The normally red colored cards are green colored
Made by us. Enjoyed by you. Benefit for all.
My son and I sure did enjoy them. We sat right down and played a game (or 4) of cards with them. It took a little while to get use to the green card coloring but other than that these eco-friendly cards look, feel, and play just like regular Bicycle cards (except they are better for the environment).
I really like the fact that big name companies like Bicycle are getting on the Eco-bandwagon (call me skeptical but I have a hard time believing that they are making eco cards for the good of the world). I really am ok with this type of marketing though. I believe that it brings awareness and exposure of eco-issues to a wider range/variety of people that may not otherwise be exposed to it. As long as they are not green-washing, it is ok with me.
